I felt it in my bones
A story of ordinary violence in Fribourg
A victim of domestic violence fighting to prevent tragedies from continuuing around her, Charlotte confronts unexpected responses: suspicion, indifference, even sarcasm and dismissal. How could health professionals, or professionals dealing with violence fail, not imagine that the defiance, or occasional belligerence, displayed by a person wounded in her being and refusing to see herself as a victim, are endeavours to protect their loved ones or other potential victims? Those whom we would no doubt be marked today as narcissistic perverts charm their way into winning the trust of people outside the situation and often pose as the good guys. So they continue to destroy, and sometimes take, the lives of others.
This is the story of a mother who has managed to break free and is waiting for her childrenbeside a bench bathed in sunlight.
