The Domestic Violence Education Centre has been offering further education and training as well as prevention and networking work since 2002. Our goal is to expand the profession-specific skills needed to deal with domestic violence. We work with schools, health institutions, companies, social services, police training academies, training institutions for social, medical and educational professions, as well as other involved parties and professional groups, such as courts and doctors.

The Conference for the Protection of Children and Adults (KOKES) is an intercantonal specialist and directors’ conference. It coordinates the cooperation between the cantons, with the federal government and with national organisations. It organises specialist conferences, collects statistics for the whole of Switzerland and makes professional recommendations.

The non-profit association ‘Netzwerk Kinderrechte Schweiz’ (Swiss Child Rights Network) is made up of Swiss non-governmental organisations that work to promote the recognition and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Switzerland. One of the network’s main tasks is to report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, which regularly reviews the progress and obstacles to the realisation of children’s rights in Switzerland. As part of this process, the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is monitored, commented on in periodic reports and discussed in dialogue with authorities and organisations.

The Child and Adult Protection Contact Point (KESCHA) is an information and counselling service for people who are affected by a child or adult protection measure. Among other things, the contact centre advises people who have questions about guardianship or proceedings by the child and adult protection authority (KESB) or the court.

The service is aimed at children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced violence. They receive immediate and uncomplicated help and advice. The Point Rencontre – Jura Bernois provides children with a third, protected and secure space in which to exercise their visiting rights or exchange information between parents. It enables them to create, enrich and maintain a bond with the parent who does not share their daily life. The Point Rencontre is a transitional space where relationships can change and evolve, with the idea that meetings without intermediaries will one day be possible.

The Point Rencontre is a place where accompanied access rights can be exercised and offers a protected environment where children and parents who are entitled to accompanied visiting rights can meet under the supervision and protection of support staff. The main aim of the Point Rencontre is to improve the relationship between parents and children.

The Point Rencontre also offers accompanied handovers of children during visiting rights. Under supervision and in a protected environment, children can pass from one parent to the other.

For children, the relationship with their parents is of great importance. After a separation or divorce, difficulties can arise in exercising the agreed visiting rights. In such cases, the Accompanied Visitation Centre (BBT) offers support. The BBT is aimed at children aged from around six months to a maximum of 16 years and their parents.

– The BBT is a neutral and safe place where children can meet with the parent they are not living with. The BBT
is attended by several children and their parents at the same time.
– For capacity reasons, visits from other relatives are only possible in exceptional cases by prior arrangement.
– The BBTs take place in the supplementary childcare centre of the Inneres Lind kindergarten. There are many toys and
indoor and outdoor play facilities are available.
– The BBT is supervised by a specialist and their team. Where necessary, they offer encouragement and assistance in organising time together.
