Surgir is a feminist organisation committed to combating gender-based violence. We reject the logic of domination and power that underpins gender-based violence and discriminates against certain social groups. We aspire to a world where everyone is free to live in peace, respecting their environment.

We campaign to reduce gender-based injustice and discrimination. We are fighting against the logic of power, including patriarchy and racism, which encourages violence, discrimination against certain social groups and the destruction of our ecosystems. We aim to transform the power relations at work in the various forms of oppression and discrimination suffered by minority groups because of gender, sexual and affective orientation, racial assignment, religion and other identity markers.
